Does Your Financial Plan Need A Fiduciary Focused Opinion?

As you reflect on the past five or ten years of your life, can you see how much has changed? Perhaps you can see proof of this in your relationships, the progress you’ve made in your career, or the way you’ve managed your finances. Change is inevitable, life requires flexibility—especially with your finances and the advice you receive from your advisors today. The new standard in financial advice is providing a level of care above the suitability standard of the past.

The owner of Sentinel Financial Planning, Mark Humphries, is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional. He received the additional education and examination necessary to provide the higher level of care needed in today’s more complicated world. This advanced fiduciary care applies to every advisory service provided between you and the firm.

He takes the time to regularly review your investment portfolios and financial strategies to ensure they align with changing circumstances and priorities. Making investment and financial decisions based on your current situation can be a good starting point, but it’s important to remember to inventory your life periodically.

He takes into account factors like switching jobs, marriage, having a child or grandchild, starting a business, or any other major shifts that can impact your finances. Taking the time to inventory your life on a regular basis can improve your investment and financial strategies to align with your current lifestyle and future goals.

If you’re nodding your head as you read this, here’s what Mark is offering: coffee and a second opinion.

REVISIT YOUR PLAN

Mark Humphries, CFP® personally welcomes you to meet to review your current plan. During the meeting, he’ll ask you to outline your financial goals and review your current plan/401(k)/TSP/investment portfolio/insurance, etc., so that he knows where you stand, where you want to be, and what you’re currently doing to get there.

He’ll take the time to make sure he’s on the same page with your objectives and help you avoid some of the biggest financial mistakes. He’ll listen to your story, and learn about both what makes you tick and what keeps you up at night.

It’s his goal to answer any questions you may have about the market, strategies, or basic financial tips and principles. Then together apply your concerns, ideas, and needs to your current plan to see how everything lines up.

DISCOVER THE BENEFITS OF A SECOND LOOK

Getting a second opinion can provide additional professional feedback about your current situation and goals. If we believe your investments/insurance, etc., continue to be well suited to your long-term goals despite the market turmoil, we’ll gladly tell you with confidence that only comes from the independent confirmation of a knowledgeable second party.

On the other hand, if we believe your plan no longer fits your goals, we’ll explain why—in plain English. And, if you’d like, we’ll offer some alternative suggestions. It may be that minor adjustments are needed based on your age, current economic woes, or a change to priorities and plans.

Whatever the case may be, it never hurts to take a second look at your finances. You want to ensure everything is up to date, still applicable to all aspects of your life, and ideally suited to successfully pursuing your long-term dreams.

Regardless of the outcome of our second look, our goal is for you to have confidence in us, in your decision, and in your financial plan. We want our planning to build into your future.

And either way, the coffee is on Mark!
